Quinta da Covela, located on the right bank of the Douro River, was favored by nature: its amphitheater shape exposed to the south, its micriclima, Mediterranean quas, its granite soils result in unique wines - for its great quality and also for its character.
Since the 90s of the last century, Covela wines, lots of Portuguese and international varieties, are synonymous with innovation, quality and individuality. The level since 2012 is the production on the farm of green monocast wines made from the Avesso and Arinto grape varieties, the two main grapes of the Bodega Verde wine region of Baião.
From this Quinta do Baixo Douro, of 49 hectares, it enjoys a landscape of extraordinary natural beauty, marked by the vineyard and the memory that humanizes it.
The old house of Covela, formed by the ruins of the old Manor House and its chapel - a testimony to the multisecular presence of wine production, is the main house and wine cellar, designed and enlarged by Manoel de Oliveira, one of the late European filmmakers of the second half of the twentieth century.
Receiving well and in a pleasant environment is part of the DNA of the Covela team. From spring to autumn you can enjoy the breathtaking views of vineyards and terraces while sampling Covela wines and tasting regional delicacies.
