This monument was erected by the Regional Commission of Tourism of Serra do Marão was inaugurated on August 23, 1968, by the Exmo. Civil Governor of Porto Dr. Jorge da Fonseca Jorge, with the presence of the daughter of the writer Exma. Mrs. D. Maria D'Eça de Queiroz de Castro.
