The church of Santa Cruz do Douro has undergone several architectural renovations throughout the ages.
At the moment stands out the decoration in gilded carving of the main chapel and the profusely decorated frontier arch that is inserted in the national baroque with its ample florons.
Panels in gilded and polychromed carving with paintings of the passion of christ lining the side walls of the chancel. On the ceiling are also polychrome wooden crates and framed by the gilded carving.
Also noteworthy for most of the statuary of the church and for the camp of the family Ferreiras Cabrais, lords of the House of Agrelos.
