The origin of the house that today is designated Casa do Monte is lost in the memory of the time. For centuries it was the center of a large farm that covered the surrounding area. Without retensions of aristocratic origin, its grandeur is reflected in the functional character of its traditional architecture using noble materials of the region, and in the simple chapel built in the XVIII century.
The transformation of society and values relegated Casa do Monte gradually to the background, degrading greatly over the last hundred years. At the end of the twentieth century it was recovered and transformed by the vision of one man - fortunately for all! Today it is a luxurious holiday home that opens its doors to tourism, combining its traditional character with the comfort of the 21st century.
