Aregos Railway Station

Address
Caldas de Arêgos - Santa Cruz do Douro - Baião

The Aregos Railway Station, also known as Aregos - Caldas de Aregos, is a railway interface of the Douro Line, which serves the town of Caldas de Aregos.

The station is located in the parish of Santa Cruz do Douro.

In 2004, it had two routes of circulation. In January 2011, it still had two lanes, both of which had a length of 267 meters, and were served by two gars, 257 and 150 meters long, and 45 and 35 centimeters high.

The station is used by regional and interregional passenger services, provided by the carrier Comboios de Portugal

The section between Juncal and Ruler of the Douro Line, where this interface is located, was inaugurated on July 15, 1879; however, in 1901 the road access branch was still under construction.

In the Plan of the Complementary Network north of the Mondego, decreed on February 15, 1900, one of the projected connections was the Douro Marginal Line, which would link the city of Oporto to Mosteirô or Aregos, passing through Gondomar and Entre-os-Rios.

In 1950, this station was one of the most important interfaces with the truck, in the Douro Line.
