Viewpoint of the Portela do Gove

Viewpoint of Portela do Gove in EN 108 to Km 77,788 located at 456 meters of altitude, built in granite with fantastic views over Caldas de Arêgos. It occupies an upper platform which is accessed laterally by three flights of stairs. Next to the EN, the viewpoint is composed of a pergola of wood accent in 4 columns of stone, exhibiting in the central part the panel of white and blue tiles. The tile panel is divided into 3 parts: central and lateral. In the central part is the central motif decorated with blue tiles in which the theme is the boat rabelo full of kites, having in the background the characteristic relief of the Douro. On this central theme is the date (1940) and at the bottom the inscription: DIRECTION OF ROADS OF THE DISTRICT OF PORTO. On both sides is visible a column and column and a half that line an inscription. On the left side is the entry PORTELA DO GÔVE and on the right side CONCº DE BAIÃO.
