CARVALHAL DA REIXELA / REIXELA WOODS

Address
Rua da Reixela - Ovil - Baião

Located in the parish of Campelo and Ovil, Carvalhal de Reixela is one of the biggest spots of Carvalho Alvarinho (Quercus robur) of Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula.

In an area of Carvalhal where magnificent examples of Carvalho Alvarinho and Negral are pontificated, it is in the shade of its trees that we can find several species of arthropods, many of them in danger of extinction and difficult to observe in other places.

In this area rich in biodiversity you can discover and observe imposing eagle specimens of Asa Redonda and monumental examples of holly, alder, willow and ash.

It is in this place of high natural beauty that the Association of Schools of Vale de Ovil through its clubs associated with the environment, tourism courses with the support of the Municipal Council and with the Eco Simbioses project (environmental and cultural association of the Valley of Ovil ) develop a number of activities that highlight interpretive walks within a single space at the national level.
